3M™ Scotch ATG Adhesive Transfer Tape 976
The 3M™ Scotch ATG Adhesive Transfer Tape 976 is a clear, high tack, low-profile adhesive transfer tape that works well bonding glossy surfaces, including high and low surface energy plastics. It can be used as a laminating adhesive for photos, fabrics and plastic nameplates, mounting posters, splicing films, and, in the glazing industry, it is used to bond lead strip to glass This is a convenient and quick alternative to using bolts, screws, hot melt adhesives or other methods of bonding.
It adheres quickly to a new surface and has a good degree of resistance to moisture and chemicals, as well as a medium resistance to UV light - although it is not recommended to be used in contexts where it will be exposed to direct sunlight.
This adhesive transfer tape has optimal performance at temperatures ranging between 21°C to 38°C; we do not recommend applying this tape at temperatures below 10°C as the adhesive will be too firm to bond, however, once applied in optimum ambient conditions, this tape can withstand low temperatures. Additionally, it will also not bleed into paper, and so will not discolour any surfaces into which it comes into contact.
This transfer tape can be applied using an adhesive transfer tape applicator gun, which will improve the speed, ease and accuracy of application, while also keeping the process free of mess. We recommend using firm pressure once the transfer tape has been applied to enhance the bond strength by increasing the contact between the adhesive and the surface to which it has been attached.
Before application, it is recommended to ensure that the surface is clean and dry; an isopropyl alcohol solvent is best for use on plastics.
