3M™ 468 Adhesive Transfer Tape
3M™ 468 Adhesive Transfer Tape is a firm acrylic pressure-sensitive adhesive (PSA) system. It features high ultimate bond strength, excellent high-temperature performance and excellent solvent resistance. Bond strength increases substantially with natural ageing; 3M™ 468 is a long ageing and resistant product used extensively by the nameplate industry.
468 easily adheres to stainless steel and has high shear resistance properties. Once applied and pressed firmly to create a strong bond on impervious materials it will resist solvent and chemical spills. However, it is not recommended for uses where continuous immersion is required.
For best use, always ensure that you press firmly on the tape for optimum bonding on the desired surface. We recommend that all surfaces are cleaned and unified before application as dirt, dust, and oil could impact the longevity and adhesion of the tape.
Excellent UV light resistance means it will not oxidise when exposed to air or sunlight. Excellent water resistance shows that there are no evident adverse effects on the bond of properly applied materials after immersion in 21°C water for about 100 hours.
3M™ 468MP is well suited for bonding together a wide variety of similar and dissimilar materials such as metals, paints, wood, glass, and some plastics. An excellent adhesive for mounting nameplates and decorative trim, as well as miscellaneous joining and holding where a thin, long ageing bond is required.
