3M™ Scotch® Filament Tape 8981
The industrial-strength, transparent 3M™ Scotch® Filament Tape 8981 is ideal for various uses, thanks to its packaging-grade, synthetic rubber resin adhesive that both aggressively bonds the tape to a wide range of surfaces and maintains this bond long-term.
This is a great option for using in packaging, working well with corrugated cardboard, plastic, metals and fibreboard being prepared for shipping. Thanks to its high tensile strength that ensures it doesn’t snap, even in high-pressure uses, means it’s also the perfect choice for applications including bundling or reinforcing packaging, metal coil tabbing or sealing heavy-duty boxes or containers before shipping or storage. This tape can also be used for L-clip and U-clip closures and to secure or stick metal piping, furniture, automotive parts or sporting goods.
Being transparent in colour, this tape can be used for attaching delivery notes, printed documents or other illustrations to packages, as they will remain visible and legible through the tape.
A polypropylene backing combined with glass-yarn filaments help to reinforce this tape, ensuring that it is resistant to moisture and abrasion, thus guaranteeing high performance and durability. As a result, this tape can withstand high levels of pressure without breaking, while its low stretch makes it the ideal choice for securing items perfectly in place.
This filament tape is best applied at room temperature, but will withstand and remain in place at the lower temperatures experienced during the shipping and storage process. Avoid applying at temperatures below 0°C, as the adhesive can become too firm to implement.
Each roll measures 50m in length.
