3M™ High Temperature Nylon Film Tape 855

Our 3M™ High Temperature Nylon Film Tape 855 is ideal for use in high temperature and high pressure applications and a great choice for when a silicone adhesive is not appropriate. Made using a non-silicone adhesive, this durable tape can be used to secure composite and metal bonding materials during autoclaving and remove flashing after composite bonding.

As this product uses a rubber adhesive, it can also be used on parts and tools that will require subsequent painting or bonding – which is not the case with silicone-based adhesives. Thanks to its high durability, it can also be used for paint masking from 16°C up to temperatures as high as 204°C for short bake cycles.

3.6 mm in thickness, this film tape combines a durable nylon backing layer that is resistant to chemicals, durable and has high elongation. It uses a rubber adhesive, which removes cleanly and without residue left on surfaces, even after the application of high temperatures of autoclave cycles of up to 177°C for a duration of several hours.

This tape’s non-silicone adhesive also has a fair resistance to UV light and will stick to a wide range of surfaces, including low-surface energy materials. Unlike silicone-based adhesives that can leave residue once removed, this tape ensures that surfaces are in optimum condition for further painting or the application of other adhesives.

This product is best stored at temperatures between 16° to 27°C and 40% to 60% relative humidity to assure its high performance. For best results, we recommend using the product within 18 months of manufacture.

This product comes in a roll length of 65.8m.
