3M™ Flame Retardant Glass Cloth Tape 398FR

Typically used in cargo bays as well as aerospace MRO applications, the 3M™ Glass Cloth Tape 398FR is a flame-retardant tape specifically engineered to maintain consistent adhesion even during drastic climate and temperatures changes.

The 3M™ 398FR can also be used for sealing where heavy duty and flame resistant tape is needed, some applications can include window and Tedlar panel sealing, repairing seats, labelling various components, insulating spliced materials, and any other frame or cabin uses.

Thanks to acrylic adhesive backing, this pressure sensitive glass cloth tape bond right at first contact and creates an almost permanent bond whilst still allowing for clean and easy removal when it is no longer needed. The high adhesion created by the acrylic makes the 3M™ 398FR a security tape for extended periods of time as it resists water and spills.

This glass cloth tape exceeds laid out flame retardant standards F.A.R. 25.853 (a) and 25.855 (d). It is also compliant with the 2003/11/EC of the European Parliament and the Council as of February 6, 2003 in regards to the Council Directive 76/769/EEC/ For safety and to adhere to standards this tape is free of penta, octa, deca Brominated Diphenyl Ether, it also does not contain any antimony trioxide which is a heavy metal.

The 3M™ 389FR Glass Cloth Tape offer consistency and excellent performance when it is used over existing standard splicing tape. This tape is conformable and may be used to splice uneven materials and panels especially when high durability and resistance to wear is needed.
